Solid melodeath album that retains a reasonable dollop of harshness thanks to premier metal knob twiddler Dan Swano's production. A confident album whose best moments are undoubtedly the lead guitar sections. The band knows what it wants but that tends to be playing in mid-to-upper-mid tempos almost all of the time. Decaptacon let the heft of the material do the work but those who like their melodeath to have the nimbleness of, say, Dark Tranquillity, might be better off looking elsewhere.
